For those interested in following my progress, here is my update as of April 18, 2015. But first here’s a little background on my Wealthy Affiliate Story….. and that is that I actually officially joined this program last year on June 4th, 2014. I liked what I saw and updated to Premium before the 7 days was up for the $19 PROMO for that first month and then proceeded to pay the $47 a month membership for the next couple months….. but unfortunately didn’t do anything with it. It was the middle of summer and I just wasn’t focussed on it. In the meantime, my credit card was maxed out and by the 3rd month my Premium membership ended up lapsing for not renewing because I didn’t pay the monthly fee. I ended up losing access because I WAS NOT READY TO COMMIT ! ! !
Then fast forward to March 31, 2015 and I get a facebook message from a friend of mine (my old next door neighbour)….. who asked me if I have ever been involved in affiliate marketing before and that he wanted my opinion on “UnlimitedProfits.com” because he was looking at it for another stream of income & for lead generation (he has been building his network marketing business with ACN for the last 3 years). I replied back to him that yeah, i’d “toiled around” with a couple different affiliate marketing opportunities (obviously I tried Wealthy Affiliate 10 months earlier, but I had also unsuccessfully tried Empower Network and Pure Leverage before that)….. and that my “thoughts” on things was that you get out of it what you put into it. And so I also asked him if he had heard of Wealthy Affiliate ? He said he hadn’t and asked me if it was any good ?
And that’s when I sent him my Wealthy Affiliate link and upgraded to ONE YEAR PREMIUM FOR $359 ! ! ! It was at that moment that I COMMITTED to truly making this work for me and my family. When I think back to that “A-HA” moment, it makes me think of the saying “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. It is funny how “taking that plunge” and knowing that i’m “ALL-IN” by paying for the ONE YEAR discounted rate (which works out to $29 a month instead of the regular rate of $47 a month) has really fuelled my focus and energy to building my online business. I AM NOW COMMITTED TO DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES TO BUILD MY ONLINE BUSINESSES AND PARTNERING WITH WEALTHY AFFILIATE WILL HELP ME GET THERE ! ! !
I remember reading an article when I worked for Starbucks quite a few years ago that talked about “building habits”. And one thing that stuck in my mind was that if you do something every day for 21 days straight then you become “accustomed or used to it” and it starts to become second nature and just a part of your every day routine. That totally makes sense and now I’m putting that logic to work!!!
So, i’m now 14 days into my first 365 days in my Wealthy Affiliate Journey….. and I am on Course 1 Lesson 10 in the Affiliate Bootcamp and have set up my first website at PartnerWithWestCoastJoe.com. I have consistently done the work and have only taken 2 days off so far. Not a bad start I would say 🙂
